Lucid Safari is fast becoming one of Brisbane/Meanjin’s finest dream-rock acts, carving out their space in the music scene in record time. Known for their rapid evolution from roots-based indie into polished, pop-drenched dream rock, Lucid Safari continues to push sonic boundaries, and their latest single, “Something More,” exemplifies their growth. Released on November 13, 2024, this track follows their previous single, “When You Go,” and dives into the feeling of “what could’ve been”—a nostalgic reflection on two people whose timing was never right. Co-written with Blake Malone and Graham Ritchie, the song's “super sparkly, spacey” production brings an ‘80s-inspired pop-rock flair while balancing heartfelt emotion with a sense of longing.

Lucid Safari’s journey began in 2020 with the release of “Walking Free,” which won them first place in The Sound Garden’s Battle of the Bands. Their breakout performances at festivals like the Wynnum Fringe Festival and a sold-out show at Brisbane’s Black Bear Lodge soon followed. In 2021, their sophomore single “Lady” and debut EP Delirium solidified their unique style, earning high rotation on U.S. radio station KXFM and charting on the AMRAP metro chart.

2023 was a milestone year for Lucid Safari, with the band headlining a 13-show east coast tour and, most recently, supporting celebrated Australian rockers British India. This tour allowed Lucid Safari to showcase their exhilarating live energy to new audiences, cementing their reputation as one of Australia’s standout emerging live acts. Sharing stages with British India gave the band an opportunity to reach a broader fan base and strengthen their growing influence in the indie rock scene.
